Summary

Sea Hero Quest, a mobile game designed to aid dementia research, generated an unprecedented dataset of human spatial navigation behaviour. This study analysed the anonymous navigation data collected from over 4 million players globally, focusing on the patterns and variations in route planning and execution within the game's virtual environments.

The dataset offers a unique opportunity to investigate the cognitive processes underlying spatial awareness and decision-making at a population scale.

Documentation

Sea Hero Quest® is a registered trademark of GLITCHERS LTD.

The future of Alzheimer’s disease can be preventable with early intervention. Sea Hero Quest is capable of spotting the earliest signs of spatial navigation decline by comparing individuals to the 4.3m data benchmark.

Spatial performance is a powerful early indicator for many neurodegenerative diseases. We offer this tool and data set by the HDR UK platform to help turbo-charge research projects and help discover powerful new ways for early identification, prevention and detection.
