Summary

The project will collect and record routine anonymized data from central hajj office of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Bangladesh Hajj Management Portal. Data variables include gender and age of Hajj pilgrims, completed pre-Hajj medical check-ups.

Documentation

This study will identify the gaps in the existing pre-Hajj medical check-up services to address the risk of asthma among Hajj pilgrims, will explore perceptions of medical staff and Hajj service managers, who are involved in pre-Hajj medical check-ups and management, about the risk posed by asthma to the health of Hajj pilgrims, and the potential acceptability of an intervention to guide recommended care (including self-management) and identify the opportunities and barriers in integrating that intervention within the existing pre-Hajj medical check-up system.
