Users of FARSITE will only be able to view anonymised data for the practices that have signed the documentation on the DCC. Since this documentation has been on the DCC over 150 practices have signed.

BENEFITS FOR PATIENTS The benefit remains the same, which is that patients in primary care may be contacted/invited to take part in a research study (such as, a clinical trial), providing they are eligible to take part. The study may benefit them (i.e. reimbursement, contribution to medical research/science, uptake of novel treatment for their health condition). BENEFITS FOR PRIMARY CARE CLINICIANS & RESEARCHERS The additional benefit for primary care – the results will be enhanced by the secondary care data. This is information that should already be provided to the GP but may not previously have been coded meaning it is not searchable, for example discharge summaries. BENEFITS FOR SECONDARY CARE CLINICIANS & RESEARCHERS The benefit for secondary care is that FARSITE will be able to generate a number of eligible patients based on a study protocol.
