Lay summary

This project aims to review clinical trials data for select drugs that gained approval through the process above using SACT data, by comparing RWD derived from Discover

Public benefit statement

This study presents an opportunity to compare two large datasets, one focusing on anti-cancer treatments for patients across England (called SACT) and another (called Discover) based on de-identified data for patients registered with a GP in North West London. This project will compare these data to inform on how SACT-derived data is used by NICE to inform on recommendations for innovative anti-cancer medications. Potential outcomes include highlighting strengths, weakness, and limitations of the use of one database for technology appraisals, whilst recommendations for improved recommendations using RWD are also targeted.
