Lay summary
This project’ll use FARSITE to allow GPs at practices within Hounslow Health PCN to identify patients on their lists who are at a high risk of having AF, and do not currently have an AF diagnosis or previous history of anti-coag prescription.
Public benefit statement
This project seeks to evaluate FARSITE as tool for case finding patients at high risk of having AF. Patient benefits will be initially focused on one PCN in North West London as we seek to increase the diagnoses rate of AF at these GP practices. We anticipate any findings to apply across the sector, or nationally. The ultimate application of this approach is to enable earlier diagnosis and earlier treatment intervention and therefore, improve patient outcomes and quality of life. This in turn can reduce the burden of AF on the healthcare system.
