Public benefit statement
Outputs from our study will help to determine characteristics of people who are more likely to develop asthma at a local level and characteristics of people with asthma who have worse outcomes. This is turn can lead to further risk prediction models that can help predict which people are more likely to develop asthma or have an asthma attack or die in people who already have asthma. Outputs from this study could also lead to interventional studies to improve early asthma detection and better management of specific groups of patients with asthma.
