Lay summary

The data from this research project will be used to help us understand if EPaCCS offer benefits to people at the end of life, their families and the NHS.

Public benefit statement

The data from this research project will be used to help us understand if EPaCCS offer benefits to people at the end of life, their families and the NHS. We will also work closely with patients, their families, health professionals, policymakers, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and NHS England to make recommendations on the future use of EPaCCS. The results will be published in suitable journals, presented at conferences and through public engagement events. We will also work with key stakeholders (EPaCCS providers, Integrated Care Boards and health professionals) and in close collaboration with local populations to ensure those who promote end-of-life care decisionmaking facilitated by EPaCCS are more accessible and acceptable to individuals across the social strata. This will also include bespoke training for health professionals in culturally competent care to enable end-of-life care discussions and decision-making.
