Public benefit statement
Combining this data will help improve developmental, safeguarding, and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people, by providing analysis which gives a more informed understanding of children and young people. Analysis of the impacts of the wider determinants of health would also be possible, helping NHS Practitioners, DCSs, and their teams to identify and prioritise opportunities for development and improvement of the service offer, to best support the most vulnerable children and young people and their families. Specifically, for the use cases mentioned above, the potential benefits for children and young people are: 1. Understanding the health needs of children in contact with children’s services a. Help to understand the prevalence of health needs to help better address the needs of children and young people. b. Identify trends across cohorts, to support the planning and commissioning of services. c. Support the evaluation of interventions and their impacts, to improve the support for children and young people. 2. Geographically mapping the level of need within a Local Authority a. Areas where there are higher levels of need could be identified, to enable more effective targeting of services (e.g., Family Hubs), enhancing strategic planning and support provided to children and young people.
