The main purpose of this research project is to develop a monitoring platform of patients with cardiovascular disease on the Lipid Management Pathway.

Public benefit statement

Cardiovascular disease is largely preventable and better management of the disease is the biggest area where the NHS can save lives. By monitoring the Lipid Management Pathway using real world data, clinicians and commissioners will be able to better target resources to reduce cholesterol levels across the population in North West London, supporting the aim of saving lives by reducing heart attacks and strokes. The benefits of this project will include: • Better identification of patients at risk. • Improved adherence to the pathway to improve patient outcomes. • Driving efficient use of healthcare resources. • Developing approaches to identify and improve health inequalities.
