Lay summary
The WSIC data will be used to develop a modelling framework that will enable decision makers to evaluate the impact of interventions, focused on reducing CVD morbidity and mortality.
Public benefit statement
North Paddington is one of one of the Westminster’s poorest areas, residents present higher-than-average rates of long-term health problems or disability when compared to Westminster as a borough. The North Paddington Programme (NPP) launched in 2023 to understand the leverage of public policy in shaping inequalities, most specifically in the relationship between the environment and health inequalities. Cardiovascular disease is one of the main causes of ill health and premature death in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. The WSIC data will be used to develop a modelling framework that will enable decision makers to evaluate the impact of interventions, focused on reducing CVD morbidity and mortality, and prioritise resources allocation according to greatest impact on health inequalities
