Lay summary

Through our research, we aim to support BCYP and their families by providing them with valuable information and education about health and services.

Public benefit statement

The outcome of the project will directly benefit patients, specifically babies, children and young people (BCYP) by prioritising their health and wellbeing. Through our research, we aim to support BCYP and their families by providing them with valuable information and education about health and services. Our evaluation will determine if the intervention is a worthwhile investment and assess its value for money across different sub-groups. The evidence on the value of money obtained from the evaluation will play a crucial role in informing the provision of care and support for BCYP to promote mental wellbeing and positive mental health. By assessing the cost-effectiveness of the intervention across different sub-groups, we will be able to identify the most efficient strategies for delivering essential services to BCYP and their families. This evidence will directly inform policymakers and healthcare providers on the allocation of resources, ensuring that interventions are tailored to meet the specific needs of BCYP and maximize the impact on mental wellbeing. Through targeted investments in effective programmes, such as community champions, health and wellbeing workers, and social prescribing, we can better address the underlying factors contributing to mental health issues in BCYP. Ultimately, by using evidence-based insights on value for money, we can strengthen the delivery of care and support services, leading to improved mental wellbeing and positive mental health outcomes for BCYP across diverse communities.
