Lay summary

This data will allow estimates to be made regarding the costs and impact of initiating glucose monitoring to be made, facilitating business cases for implementation of a remote glucose monitoring solution.

Public benefit statement

Patients can learn to check their glucose levels at home using a simple finger prick test (which can be taught whilst at hospital receiving cancer treatment). A mobile app sends these results to the Oncology team, who can monitor them. If someone has very high glucose levels, they can get assessed and treated on the same day to avoid hospital admission. Those with moderately high levels can get dietary advice and start treatment with their next chemotherapy cycle.
