Lay summary
This study aims to assess how many people in Northwest London have had their blood pressure measured, and among those with high blood pressure, how many have been diagnosed and are receiving treatment to lower their blood pressure.
Public benefit statement
The research will help identify gaps in diagnosis and treatment and whether this relates to people not having their blood pressure measured, not having follow-up with their GP or not being prescribed medication. It will also explore whether certain groups, based on factors like age, sex, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, are more at risk of missing diagnosis or treatment. The findings will help inform strategies to improve hypertension care.
