Lay summary
The main purpose of this research project is to investigate inequalities in the safety and quality of perinatal care experienced by mothers and children from ethnically diverse backgrounds in Northwest London.
Public benefit statement
By using the WSIC data in the quantitative phase of this project, we aim to identify and measure differences in health outcomes and patient safety concerns (such as maternal and infant complications, morbidity or mortality) among different ethnic groups during pregnancy and the first year after birth. This will help us understand where and how care may be unequal for some mothers and babies in Northwest London and identify some actionable indicators.
