Lay summary
Project will assess how new digital tools for CKD care are used in NWL general practice and whether they improve early detection, coding, and management of CKD.
Public benefit statement
The project will help improve care for people at risk of, or living with, chronic kidney disease (CKD). By checking how well the new CKD tools in GP systems are being used, the evaluation will show whether they help staff spot CKD earlier, keep patient records accurate, and make sure people receive the right tests and treatments. Earlier identification means patients can take simple steps sooner to protect their kidney health. Better coding and clearer records mean patients are less likely to be overlooked and more likely to get the regular checks they need. The project will also show whether yearly urine tests or prescriptions of appropriate medicines are happening more reliably. By understanding what makes the tools easy or difficult for staff to use, the NHS can improve them and reduce differences between practices. This helps ensure that all patients, no matter where they live, receive consistent, high‑quality care.
