Lay summary

This project seeks to learn about the trends and patterns within group of patients with known kidney disease so that we can better identify individuals at high risk of over-prescribed medication.

Public benefit statement

People with known kidney disease often are put on multiple medications to manage their conditions. Sometimes within the same geographical area, some groups of patients are treated differently leading to some facing worse outcomes. We know that currently in primary care individuals have a medication review every 12 months to avoid the harmful consequences of being overprescribed medications but at the moment, we don’t know the effectiveness off them or the role of them within NW London. This project seeks to learn about the trends and patterns within group of patients with known kidney disease so that we can better identify individuals at high risk of over-prescribed medication which in-tern will improve population health in the region.
