Lay summary
Study assesses whether early Lp(a) testing in low‑risk patients reduces long‑term healthcare use, costs, and productivity loss versus late testing, analysing GP visits, prescriptions, hospitalisations, costs, and patient characteristics in NWL.
Public benefit statement
This work will help lay the foundations for understanding which patient groups may benefit most from earlier identification of elevated Lp(a), and where future treatments or targeted interventions could potentially be directed in the future. The findings will support future research, pathway development and strategic planning by identifying patterns in testing, variation in clinical practice, and groups at higher inherited cardiovascular risk. This will help
