Public benefit statement

Academically, it will produce the first systematic, multi-site characterisation of Lp(a) testing patterns in UK secondary care, providing a foundation for future hypothesis-driven research, guideline development, and implementation science. Professionally, participating NHS clinicians and Trusts will gain aggregated insights into local and national Lp(a) testing patterns, supporting evidence-based clinical decision-making and service improvement. Commercially, the study is co-sponsored by Novartis, whose interest lies in understanding the current landscape of Lp(a) testing to inform future therapeutic development and market access strategies. Promptly Health, as technology and analytics partner, applies its existing real-world evidence and OMOP-based analytical infrastructure to deliver the study. Promptly's underlying infrastructure pre-exists this study, is unaffected by access to OneLondon data, and no new project intellectual property is created from OneLondon data beyond the aggregated study outputs themselves (which are governed by §11 of the Data Access Contract). Organisationally, participating NHS Trusts will receive direct financial compensation for their participation and data contribution. In addition, they will have access to site-level dashboards with aggregated findings, enabling them to benchmark local practice against the broader network and identify areas for improvement in cardiovascular risk management.
