Lay summary
This project uses population-level cancer data across North West London to understand factors affecting outcomes, inequalities, and future service needs. Insights will support prevention, earlier diagnosis, equitable care, planning, and investment.
Public benefit statement
The project will provide NWL APG/ SWL APC, and SWL ICB West and North London ICS and RMP Cancer Alliance with a more comprehensive understanding of current and future cancer needs across the population. This will support evidence based service planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision making. The project will also help strengthen data driven approaches to quality improvement, service evaluation, and performance monitoring across the cancer pathway. The project will strengthen analytical, epidemiological, and population health management capabilities across participating organisations. It will support the development of expertise in cancer epidemiology, outcomes analysis, predictive modelling, and evaluation methods. The development of a shared analytical framework will support closer working between RM Partners Cancer Alliance, NHS organisations, public health teams, academic partners, and other stakeholders. This will help create a more consistent approach to understanding cancer outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement across the system. In addition to the public benefit of improving cancer outcomes and reducing inequalities, the project has several wider organisational, professional, and financial benefits.
