In support of this national response, this project is undertaking the following areas of work: Modelling work to support the local NHS and city response in terms of critical care bed provision, ward bed provision, and timing of any changes that are necessary to other less urgent clinical work. Coordination of response across cities of Bradford and Leeds, and the local region
Specifically this project aims to model the spread of disease locally and regionally, and the associated healthcare impacts across a range of age and deprivation, to inform local capacity planning and responses. Anticipated outcomes of the project are more localised modelling of the pandemic spread and an 'early warning' system that will allow a few days/a week's notice of the requirement for hospital admissions.
