In support of this national response, this project is undertaking the following areas of work. The SAIL anonymised data will feed two main projects, which are already active and running and represent an important part of Cardiff and Vale Health Board’s covid response: 1) A COVID nowcast model to inform our Ops planning team about what to expect in terms of hospital demand. 2) A Regional Surveillance Dashboard, which has been developed in cooperation with Adult Social Care, Public Health Wales and Cardiff and Vale local authorities, and informs operational and strategtic covid repsonse workstreams within the regional partnership and across all welfare and care services.
Anticipated outcomes of the project are: 1) A more precise nowcast model to anticipate changes in covid demand and plan for them in advance. 2) More information from which the regional partnership can draw out conclusions on the state of the epidemic at any given point in time.
