The Connected Bradford Airedale Emergency Care : Flexible Data Model (FDM) Contains routinely collected data for approximately 185,000 patients. The dataset has been fully anonymised, but can link to other Connected Bradford FDM's.

The Airedale Emergency Care FDM last build date was 2024-09-07 and contains data up to : 2024-04-07.. The observation period for this data is: 2010-04-01 to 2024-04-07

The FDM is made up of 4 source table using routinely collected data for 185,571 individuals.

The tables are as supplied with minimal reformatting, but as the overall format for each file type has changed there are different versions of files. For example there are 4 AE formats used as the AE format has changed 4 times since we started receiving it.

The source tables are largely populated by fields with the tbl where there is a person and a start and end date, and cb where there is no identifiable person (these are typically lookup tables)

It includes basic patient demographics, information about emergency care consultation events, medical history including diagnoses and investigations

This dataset can be linked to other secondary care and primary care data including but not limited to Primary Care, Health Visitor, Child Health, A&E, maternity, radiology, theatre etc . It can also be linked to Connected Bradford Education Records, Social Care and other non health care sources.

Access service description

Expression of Interest (EOI) are reviewed 3 monthly by the Connected Bradford Board. For the majority of EOI's, a subset of various FDM's fitting the requirements of the research will be provided for use by the researcher. The extract will only contain the variables required by the research. Access to data is via a secure R or Python environment hosted by the SDE.

A Data Sharing Contract and Agreement will need to be signed by the researcher's institution and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. For more information see https://github.com/ConnectedBradford
